| A novel approach for non-invasive measurement of blood haemoglobin -- International Journal of Healthcare Technology and Management
Chaskar UM et al. – An attempt is made to design a technique for determining total haemoglobin concentration, by wavelength selection and algorithm. A model is based on the difference in optical density induced by the pulsation of the heart beat, by assuming that, the variation of blood vessel size is small during arterial pulsing. A device is constructed with two Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs), and light source of 590 nm and 525 nm wavelength. The selected wavelengths are isosbestic points. Clinical data of patients are collected from pathology laboratory, which is used for determining the correlation between the absorption of light through finger and actual haemoglobin count. |
